Suppliers/Contractors Management
Our company has a process in place designed to select and evaluate suppliers based on their adherence to business ethics, human rights, labor, health, safety and environmental standards:
- Suppliers must be qualified and show a good track record.
- Suppliers are audited through onsite GLG visits conducted by our QA and QC team along with the purchasing division.
- Each key supplier is audited annually.
Our contractors/third party workers are trained on the company’s requirements in relation to environmental management, safety, health, and security management, quality management, labor conditions, employee relations, and anti-corruption and adherence to law.
Transportation and Logistics
Our facilities are built inside major growing areas with a surrounding circular ring of satellite buying stations, which:
- Eases individual farmer burden for leaf delivery and consolidates loads
- Reduces kilometers traveled to transport harvested leaf
- Reduces emissions from truck delivery over long distances
As a result, our current infrastructure model enables an estimated 80% reduction in crop transportation travel.
