Our history dates back to 1886 when Taihe Pharmacy was founded by Dr. Taihe Zhang, a well known physician in mainland China. His vision was to create an organization that would reach people, provide opportunities, and increase the quality of life for individuals of all ages. For more than a century following, developments in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), nutraceuticals, and supplements fueled growth in the industry.
Today, the Chairman of GLG Life Tech Corporation, now a global entity, is the great grandson of Dr. Taihe Zhang. His vision and legacy have been carried through and remain evident in our business today. Through the years, GLG has undergone many changes and has grown by forming strategic alliances, distributorships, and networks throughout the world. Today, the company is a world leader in the production of high quality stevia. Our vertically integrated program includes stevia seed development, growth and refining operations as well as final manufacturing of formulated product for consumers.
